Festival wristband display ideas (that let you add more)

You kept every one. Here is how to put them on the wall, and how to rank which weekend was actually the best.

Before you hang them

Most festival wristbands are woven cloth with a plastic slider or a sealed clasp, and many have an RFID chip. You don't need to cut them off the loop to display them. Leaving the loop closed keeps them looking like they did on your wrist.

6 ways to display festival wristbands

1. Rank them on a tier list

Every weekend gets a tier. Pin each wristband in the row it earned, with a ticket or a photo next to it. The best festival goes in S, the one that rained the whole time goes in F. That's what The Tier Board is for: the rows on the 36 x 26 in are about 4.4 in tall, so a wristband loop hangs right in its row.

2. A shadow box

Clean and protected from dust. Pick a deep one so the loops don't get crushed. The downside: you have to open it every time you add one.

3. A rope or rod

Slide every band onto a rope or a curtain rod. Easy to add to. They bunch up fast, so it reads as a pile once you're past ten or so.

4. A frame with a fabric back

Pin bands to a fabric covered board inside a frame. Looks finished, but a standard frame fits only a few.

5. On a lanyard or a hat

Fun, but you can't see them from across the room.

6. Next to the photos

A wristband next to a photo from that weekend tells the whole story. Works on any board you can pin into.

How to pin a wristband without damaging it

  • Pin through the loop, not the woven part, so the pattern stays clean.
  • Let the loop hang. It reads as a wristband, not a flat strip.
  • Keep the chip end down if you might scan it again someday.

Also see how to display concert tickets, since the tickets usually come with the wristbands.
